The UUBN Green Sanctuary Committee wants to encourage the UUBN community to help plant "Mohr Trees" as part of the Ecology Action Center's new Tree Corps campaign.

Tree Corps is a tree planting initiative for Bloomington, Normal, and McLean County designed to significantly increase tree planting in our community - with a goal of planting  10,000 trees annually.

Tree Corps is a key strategy in the EAC's in development BN Clean Air Plan, that will set targets for local reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and air quality pollutants like ozone, and develop strategies to reach those targets. Increasing tree planting can help our community create its own carbon sink!

Let's help our community plant some trees!  Please contact Larissa or Nancy Armstrong if you have any questions.

ABOUT Mohr Trees!

The Ecology Action Center in partnership with the ParkLands Foundation and Living Lands and Waters needs your help to meet our goal of planting 10,000 trees this year in McLean County.  Each donation of $5 will cover the cost of planting one native tree seedling at the Parklands Foundation Mohr Tract near Lexington, Illinois.  Better yet, for every tree donated, Living Lands and Waters will match with another native tree seedling donation which will be planted nearby at the ParkLands Foundation Merwin Preserve.  Please contribute generously to help us reach our goal of 10,000 trees!

Memorial or Tribute Tree Donations may be made in memory of a loved one or to celebrate a birthday or other special occasion.

Please note, to allow for spring 2021 planting of the Mohr Trees, contributions are requested by April 10, 2021, where possible.

As the Ecology Action Center is a 501c3 noprofit organization, donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowable by law.
